Pohutukawa

Pohutukawa

When I should think
 of a summers day
what else is there to compare
to a flower that
no other can resemble
that fills the abundant sky
with triumphant offerings.
Only nature could conjure up
such splendent design
shooting candles of blossom for
the bee to dance on
the fragile blossom
too busy to slow down
for the Crimson  sun.
