A Game Of Words

A Game of Words

First the words
started well from
the mid-field position
punctuation proving to be a strong opposition.
Showing good forward play
the syllables are tackled in mid-flow by a comma, the letters recover quickly only to be fouled again, and
abruptly come to a full stop.
After a flowing run along the line
in the dying minutes of extra time the letters are taken down.
The penalty is awarded
the question mark is given the red card and is sent off.
The Captain with a capital letter
takes a shot at the verse
it bends right over the line
and scores a rhyme.
After the match
the adjectives described
the atmosphere as electric
with a cheer and a roar.

Avie.
