RETROSPECT
So there we were
back then
lying
in bed
did we do it all
for love
I'm ambivalent
even now
years later
what else
was there left
to say after all
the sad cliche's
we conceded to
the silence
in the darkness
of contemplation
admittedly
I searched for
hopeful answers
and you were brave
submitting to
the inevitable
truth
before
we closed our
eyes to sleep.
